Pine Cliffs Resort - Sheraton Algarve Hotel, Pine Cliffs Vacation Club, Pine Cliffs Premier Club, Pine Cliffs Residence & The Terraces - announces its 12th Summer Gala with legendary Puerto Rican singer and guitarist, Jose Feliciano. The event will take place on the next Saturday August 2nd in the gardens of Casa Pine Cliffs, part of the splendid Pine Cliffs Residence complex.
George Benson, Dionne Warwick, Gloria Gaynor, Al Jarreau, Bryan Ferry, Roberta Flack and Lionel Richie, are just some of the resounding names that have already performed at the renowned annual Pine Cliffs Summer Gala.
With over 70 celebrated records throughout his long career, Feliciano has influenced popular music for more than two generations and established himself as one of the most talented composer, singer and guitarist of the last decades. He has bridged musical styles in a way that has never been equalled. Jose Feliciano is recognized as the first Latin Artist to cross over into the English music market, opening the doors to others who now play an important part in the American and International music industry. Three songs that have been milestones for Feliciano are: "Light My Fire", a magnificent interpretation of the popular group The Doors, topping the charts; "Che Sera Sera’ ", a mega-success in Europe, Asia and South America; and of course, "Feliz Navidad," the Christmas song placed among the 25 Greatest Holiday Songs of the Century. Feliciano has enjoyed performing with some of the top world-wide symphonic orchestras including the London Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.

He has been awarded over 45 Gold and Platinum records; has won 16 Grammy nominations, earning him 6 Grammy Awards; 2 “Lifetime Achievement Awards” by Billboard Magazine and ALMA Award; "Artist of the Millennium Award” by the Los Premios Globos; and in 2001, received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, USA, for his musical, as well as humanitarian contributions to the world. Jose also joined other entertainment legends in having his star permanently implanted on the world renowned Hollywood Walk of Fame, and had his hands cast for the world famous Wall of Fame in Madame Tussaud's in London, England. The city of New York honours him by naming a celebrated Arts Schools after him. Throughout the years, Feliciano has dedicated a large part of his time to humanitarian causes and is recognized as an 'Ambassador of Good Will' throughout the world. Lately, he has been involved in bringing information and insight to the Latin-American community in USA, on the subject of diabetes, joining hands with Life Scan, Inc and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. On the recent visit of Pope Bento XVI in the USA, Jose Feliciano was one of the artists invited to perform for an audience of over 60,000 people.
