Designing a garden is much like designing a house. The time and effort invested early on will be rewarded when the
project starts to grow.

The first stage is a site visit. Notes, photographs and a detailed brief are taken as reference material. Client priorities,
deadlines, budgets, practicalities and the feasibility of the site are all taken into consideration.

Clients will be asked to consider:
- Preferred style I Mediterranean I Low Water Consumption I Contemporary I Country Quinta Gardens
- The importance of a low maintenance garden
- Whether outdoor space is to be an extension of the living space
- Garden functionality such as space for; tree houses and playgrounds, cooking and entertaining, relaxation and exercise
- Inclusion of any special features such as artwork, water features, pots, walkways, bridges, pergolas and sundown decks

The second stage: A hand drawn plan of the project is supplied for discussion along with mood boards showing coloured
planting suggestions and an itemised estimate of the costs.

The third stage: includes a 3D perspective of the overall design which will elaborate on the designs shape and materials.
Once the final plan and costs are approved work can start.

On average it takes 2-3 weeks from client brief to creation of drawings and estimate.

Hard landscaping starts with contouring and preparation of the land ready for the application of topsoil to achieve the
correct levels.

Major features such as pathways, drives, terraces, fences, walls and steps, lakes and banks are then put into place. After this, more ornamental features are constructed such as; rockeries, water features, decking, pergolas and trellis’ using both traditional and modern materials. Once this is complete networks for irrigation and lighting are installed and finally, vital elements such as Soft Landscaping can commence with the laying of lawns and planting.

Walls & Steps
Walls & Steps - Changes in levels can be accommodated to create a feature, using walls and
steps with a choice of stone and planting to enhance them. Walls play an integral part in creating
the shape of a garden, whether retaining walls, terraces, or boundary walls. They are useful to
save space and utilise difficult areas by bringing them into the garden as a functional aspect.

rockeries
Rockeries - Rockeries are an attractive and informal alternative to stone clad and concrete walls, they offer the opportunity to soften and enhance a both an open terraced garden.

Wood & Pergolas
Wood – Pergolas / Trellis / Decking - Like stone, wood is another valuable material used in
the garden. Features such as planters, pergolas, gazebos, trellis and decking can all be made to a
variety of finishes and styles in keeping with the overall garden design.

Soft landscaping comprises the essential components which complete your garden, including soil preparation, importation of topsoil, tree bark and gravel, ducting for lighting and irrigation, laying of a lawn with turfs (or seeding a lawn) and the definitive planting of flowers, shrubs and trees of all sizes.

Garden and Planting styles may vary from Modern and Contemporary, Mediterranean Dry Gardens through to lush Traditional Gardens. A Clients wishes and budget are considered at every stage along with the maturity of planting, including specimen plants to produce a sought- after garden

Systems are designed to a measured layout of your garden, lawns and planting - enabling us to maximize the distribution of water but minimizing the consumption. An initial site survey will confirm which areas need irrigation, the types of shrubs and plants to be irrigated, water quality and any particular obstacles to installation.

Lawn areas are analysed separately to ensure sufficient overlap of spray units. From this, plans are produced to show the most efficient irrigation network and the size, number and type of automated controllers, electro valves and sprinklers required.

If an irrigation system was not installed when a garden was created, it is not too late! Arquiscape can plan and install a complete irrigation system – or re- install it in phases – even in a mature garden.

Improve the look and atmosphere of your garden and property at night time and create a safe and accessible environment. Arquiscape design personalized lighting plans which allow you to relax , enjoy and show off the beauty of your garden after dark whilst you entertain.

Lighting can be as minimal as an illuminated pathway or the spotlighting of favourite specimen trees and shrubs. Lighting can also dramatize and accentuate focal points such as trees, pools, fountains and masonry within your garden.

All gardens – of whatever size and complexity – require regular garden maintenance to keep them healthy and looking at their
best so that they reach maturity. Arquiscape offer a "Tender Loving Care" approach based upon a professional and bespoke service tailored to each individual garden.

Gardens have scheduled maintenance once or twice a week dependent on individual needs and seasonal requirements,
