Sheraton Algarve Hotel at Pine Cliffs Resort was the location chosen for the Portuguese performance of Riders on the Storm – 40th Anniversary of The Doors, on July 18th, part of the series of concerts of the ALLGARVE Edition. This memorable evening will start with a lavish buffet dinner served at the magnificent TABU Garden Lounge, followed by the concert at the Pine Cliffs Golf & Country Club’s Driving Range and will continue with an after-party at the entertaining amo.te Pine Cliffs Sushi Club.The concert is part of a series of events of the ALLGARVE program (an initiative from the Ministry of Economy & Innovation and the Portuguese Tourism) and a partnership between the Portuguese Tourism, Albufeira Municipal Council and the Sheraton Algarve Hotel at Pine Cliffs Resort. The Doors is one of the most affluent rock n’ roll bands of all times, hard to fit in any specific movement of the 60’s, being pop, rock or even ideological. In 2002, after the enormous success of "The Doors Storytellers", produced for VH-1/MTV, RIDERS ON THE STORM was formed, where Astbury was the lead singers chosen to play with Manzarek, Krieger and John Densmore, the original Doors. Now, Ray Manzarek and Bobby Krieger have appointed Brett Scallions, an ex-member of the Fuels, to replace the “irreplaceable” Jim Morrison, as the lead singer. RIDERS ON THE STORM is a project developed when Morrison was still alive, giving continuity to the unforgettable voice. In February 2007 RIDERS ON THE STORM were awarded with a “Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award” and a star on “The Hollywood Walk Of Fame”.
The concert which is part of the world tour where the band will also perform in Brazil, Chile and Ecuador, will include hits such as “Roadhouse Blues”, “Riders on the Storm”, “L.A.
