The Denver Botanic Gardens continues a holiday tradition that visitors have looked forward to for more than 25 years. Once again, the gardens, trees, and farm are festooned with thousands of LED lights to celebrate the season. Blossoms of Light features colorful displays throughout the gardens, while Trail of Lights offers a more intimate experience along a decorated trail. A not-to-be-missed display this year is a new tunnel of lights that provides a magical stroll when viewed with special 3-D glasses.
“Our Holospex glasses are similar to the style worn at a 3-D movie. They turn the holiday lights into a dimensional spectacle with candy canes, snowmen, and snowflakes,” says Erin Bird, Denver Botanic Gardens’ communication manager.
3-D glasses
To add more magic to the viewing experience, 3-D glasses are available to turn the holiday lights into a dimensional spectacle.
In addition to the tunnel of lights, the display this year transforms the Japanese Garden, South African Plaza, Cottonwood Border, Shady Lane, and other gardens into magical winter landscapes. The 1880s Hildebrand Ranch homestead is decorated with a vintage Colorado Christmas theme. The barn and antique tractors are also illuminated, along with the children’s play area and tree house, which is synchronized to holiday music. A warming hut is offered, along with free hayrides and strolling carolers on select evenings.
The Trail of Lights
The Trail of Lights offers an intimate light show along a decorated trail.
The event runs every evening through January 1 from 5:30p.m. - 9 p.m., including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve and New Year’s Day.
