Of course every client and every garden is different and whilst some may want a total redesign and rebuild, others may simply want some assistance with planting up a new border. I would be equally happy to help with either.

Client Consultation
This is a visit to see and discuss your garden. It is a very important part of the process where I can get a feeling for how you will be using the garden and exactly what you are hoping for. I can offer advice and suggestions and give an indication of what design work will be necessary.
Site Analysis and Measurement
Once you have decided to proceed with the garden design service, I will carry out a full site analysis. I will be noting the aspect, soil type, measurements, position of features and plants to be retained, slope, problems and so on.
Garden Layout Plan
I will produce scale plan of the proposed garden layout in the form of a hand drawn, coloured drawing which will include detailed drawings of any complex elements. This will be presented to you in person so that you have an opportunity to discuss it and understand it fully. For an example of a garden layout plan click here
When this has been approved, I will produce a setting out plan with dimensions clearly marked to be used during the construction.
Making it Happen
I can take on any aspect of this from putting you in contact with reputable landscapers, builders or specialists, to obtaining quotes on your behalf and monitoring the project. Some clients like to arrange work with their own chosen contractors or carry out the work themselves.
The advantage of having your designer on board all the way through are considerable. I can ensure that the contractors understand exactly what is required, advise you about the correct time and amount to pay, and help you to ensure that all the people needed are involved at the correct time.
Planting Plan
Should you wish, a detailed planting plan can be drawn up to show which trees, shrubs and plants would work with the new garden layout and the physical conditions in your garden. For an example of a planting plan click here
Sourcing and Planting the Plants
If you don't fancy buying and planting the plants yourself, I would be happy to arrange to do this for you. This includes preparing the soil to ensure that plants have the best possible start in their new home.
Maintenance
I can provide an information pack, explaining exactly how the garden should be cared for to keep it looking its best. For those people who don't have time to look after the garden themselves, I can arrange a maintenance contract on your behalf.
Postal Service
If you live far from Leeds, I can still do designs for your garden by post. I would be happy to provide this service for gardens anywhere in the world!
